Already heard of ‘Fringe Factory’ (www.wearefringefactory.com)!? It is a new movement that has been set up as a group of young researchers who work passionately within the market research industry across the world. We aim to provide a platform to young researchers, a place to bring edgy thoughts to our industry… a place to show that (being in) market research is fun!
On the night of the 19th of September, we hold our very first ‘Fringe Event’ ever: ResearchUncoverd.TV at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. Will you join this explosion of entertainment for and by the ‘researcher minded’!?

What can you expect?
- An MR themed edition of the ultimate game of True or False. We are still looking for your crazy and unbelievable research stories for this one, drop tom@springresearch.com a mail (ofcourse, we will handle them in a very confidential way J);
- A Blind Date job interview: 3 hiring agencies trying to seduce a ‘lucky’ intern… Will it be love at first sight?
- A talkshow in which our very own Dr. Phil will apply MR models to everyday life and domestic conflict;
- All of this spiced up with guest performances from market researchers with ‘special talents’!
Not able to make it to Amsterdam? Well… you will have to miss the after party of the year, but don’t worry: there will be live streaming too! Sit back, relax and tune in to ResearchUncovered.TV!
We are thrilled to meet you in Amsterdam in less than 4 weeks: let’s have some research fun…

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating. Global landmarks such as the, Sydney Harbour Bridge, The CN Tower in Toronto, The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.
Earth Hour 2010 takes place on Saturday 27 March at 8.30pm (local time) and is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community throughout the world. It is a call to stand up, to take responsibility, to get involved and lead the way towards a sustainable future. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Europe to Asia to the Americas will stand in darkness. People across the world from all walks of life will turn off their lights and join together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet. So sign up now and let’s make 2010 the biggest Earth Hour yet!.

The first 2 weeks of my second year at GroupT went by very fast and we already have a lot of work, but don’t worry I will definitely find the time to do some nice things this year to write about
.
At GroupT we have every year 2 course called EE (=Engineering Experiences) where we have to develop something, this year we have EE3 and EE4. For EE3 we have to develop and create a robot, I’ll try to post some work-logs on my blog so that you can review our work and post some comments on it.
I’ve planned a short-ski weekend the 31th Oct. – 1st Nov. – 2nd Nov. at the Zermatt ski-resort and a 10 day ski trip to an(@ this moment) unknown location after the first examination period. During those trips I’ll take a lot of pictures and post them here.
During the F1 weekend at Francorchamps I’ve tried taking pictures of the F1-cars and I immediately found out that it is really hard to take good pictures of racing cars, so I’m going to attend some races and practice a lot on taking pictures.
I’m also organizing the fifth edition of the DD-Lan party but you’ll have to wait some more for further details
.
I’ll keep you updated and don’t forget to check my blog once in a while.

I’ve been using the standard P&S compact camera’s for years to take pictures on my trips, but now I’ve decided to start using a DSLR. So a few days ago I bought my first one, a Canon EOS 450D with an 18-55mm IS lens.
I ordered the camera including the accessories online @ the http://www.digicamshop.be. I can really recommend this to everyone because they have such a wide variety of products and accessories. When you order something they say that it will be delivered the next day (excluding Sunday and Monday), but you should not always count on that
.
I’m already using my dslr for a few days and it’s really a very nice camera, but it’s still a dslr so you have to learn how to use it if you want to take nice pictures (when you aren’t using the creative modes).
Pictures will follow soon in one of my next posts…

This is my first (small) post on my personal blog, so first of all I want to say welcome to everyone.
You can find more information about me and my blog on the About page.
I’m currently enjoying my vacation at Quinta Do Lago (Portugal), but because it’s so hot outside (too hot to chill outside
) I’ve decided it was a good moment to setup this blog. My second post will probably be about a trip with the Quinta Quads organisation that I’ve scheduled for next thursday.
I hope that all of you will have a great summer (vacation) and that you will keep reading my blog.
