After we’ve done 3 times the Quinta Quad Adventure we decided that it would be time to do something else. On the internet we’ve found the website of Karting Almancil and we saw that they organized buggy excursions, so the decision was quickly made.
We booked the excursion one hour before we left
and had a quick lunch before going to Karting Almancil.
After a short briefing we were ready to go, the type of roads were more or less the same as with the Quinta Quad Adventure but it was road another and from my point of view a nicer track. Below I’ve included some pictures, let the pictures do their job!!!

On our way from Marbella (Spain) to Quinta Do Lago (Portugal), we’ve made a little detour to Gibraltar. Gibraltar is a Great-Britain Zone (aka GBZ), so you need your ID to cross the border. As soon as you cross the border you are in England, with the red busses and phone booths. But there is one big difference with the UK, the TEMPERATURE

Gibraltar is very small so you don’t a full day to visit it, I can recommend you to take on of the taxi tours around Gibraltar. The taxi can you bring to places which you otherwise didn’t see.
When we arrived on top of the Rock, we first met the small nice monkeys (Barbary Macaques). It is amazing when you see the monkeys climbing on the rocks but keep in mind they like food and they know how to get it
.
We had lunch at Main Square at the Little Rock Cafe, which was a typical British pub.
After lunch we continued our trip to Quinta Do Lago.

My brother and I already did twice the short day trek with a paintball session with the Quinta Quads organization, but because we really like to drive we’ve chosen this year to do a full day trek and it was an unbelievable good day.
At 9:30 a mini-van picked us up at the resort and drove us to the starting place. Before we could start we had to prepare by putting on us protection material. After the preparations the instructors gave us some safety advice and then we were good to go.
As soon as we turned the key and pressed some buttons and all the quad-engines started with a nice sound, the adventure could begin. After a few km’s when everyone was used to the breaking, accelerating and turning methods, the real stuff started. Read more…
